Jebel Jais isn't just the UAE's highest mountain - it's home to some of the best driving roads in the Middle East. At 1,934 meters, the road to the summit features 30km of perfectly maintained tarmac with sweeping curves, dramatic elevation changes, and stunning views.
Getting There
Jebel Jais is located in Ras Al Khaimah, about 90 minutes from Dubai. Take the E311 north, then E18 toward Ras Al Khaimah city. Follow signs for Jebel Jais - the mountain road begins shortly after the city.
The Drive
The mountain road is divided into several sections:
Lower Section (0-1000m): Gentle curves through desert landscape, good for warming up.
Middle Section (1000-1500m): The road gets more interesting here with tighter turns and elevation changes.
Upper Section (1500m+): The best part. Dramatic switchbacks, cliff-edge views, and well-engineered curves that feel designed for supercars.
