Hatta is a mountainous enclave of Dubai near the Omani border, approximately 90 minutes east of the city centre. The drive passes through desert that gradually transitions into the Hajar Mountains, with the landscape changing from flat terrain to rocky peaks and turquoise reservoirs. Hatta Dam, with its green-blue water surrounded by mountains, is one of the most photographed natural locations in the UAE. The road quality is good throughout the 180 km route, with the mountain section offering gentle curves and moderate elevation changes.
